Notes

A beautiful spiraling staircase, photographed with a fisheye lens in the tower of a 13th-century French chateau, symbolizes the explosion of information in the biological and physical sciences, at a time in history when computers can for the first time analyze the code of life, subatomic particles, physical constants, chemical structures, energy transformations, and astrophysical phenomena.

CITATIONS & REFERENCES
The three seminars we present through adarwinstudygroup.org are based on presentations that Dr. Greg Dimijian gives to fourth-year medical residents at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Adapting these oral presentations to an online format is a dynamic process, as the seminars continue to incorporate new content from current events and scientific discussions.
Given the broad scope of disciplines that these seminars engage, our method of citation generally follows the MLA style; however, we take some liberties with its structure, as our Web site is meant as a compliment to discussions held by the study group responsible for adarwinstudygroup.org.
Nonetheless, to help our larger audience of readers, particularly students of science, we are notating the seminars with the original sources from Dr. Dimijian's library, many of which are now available online.
Where appropriate, we have augmented the footnotes with additional references, which may not have been part of Dr. Dimijian's original readings but can provide more current or similar reference material.
